We've got structure!

I drove out to the house this afternoon to meet a friend who wanted to look around the neighborhood. Much to my surprise, they were framing our house!!!!! I realized it while I was driving quite a few streets away and it actually took a minute for it all to register in my head. How exciting! We were wondering when they were going to begin the framing. When I was out there Thursday midday there was no wood, no nothing. That's how fast things can move along. Now things will really be changing fast and that means we'll have to be out there A LOT!

Blessings and prayers to you all!

Checkin out the patio and driveway

We went out to the house on Sunday afternoon to see if they had done anything else since pouring our driveway and patio a week ago Friday. They hadn't. I guess they will start framing soon. The kids really enjoyed looking around. We browsed in some of the other houses being built. It sure is getting exciting!

I am standing at the back of the house in front of what will be our fireplace in the family room. To the left of where Andrew is, is the back door going from the breakfast room out to the patio and breezeway. That's our extended patio and the foundation for the garage.

There's our super long driveway. I LOVE IT!!!!!

And, well, this photo of Michael just cracks me up. He is so cleat and everything around him is so blurry, it almost looks surreal. He's floating along!

More Concrete

I know. I know. You are getting tired of all this excitement over at our building site. I mean who wouldn't just be glued to this screen. Concrete, concrete and more concrete!

Friday afternoon they did some more pouring. They had laid out the forms for the driveway, patio and walkways. It is fun to see it all come together.

Here they are working on the driveway.

A view from the house of the driveway going down to the street. We are amazed how much driveway it is!

This is looking sideways across the back of our lot. Right in front here is the part of the driveway that will be under the porte cushier. After that is a rectangle of green space. On the other side of that there will be a low fence with a gate over close to the house. The bigger rectangle after that is our patio that we extended to more than the standard 10 x 10. It is so much cheaper to do it now versus later.

A Good Foundation

Friday afternoon was the "pour." We have a slab! Brian spent the afternoon out there with our inspector and now it is done. I am sure it is continuing to dry as I write. Yippee! Moving right along. Pray that this foundation will always be a good solid support for our beautiful home and the Lord will be an even stronger foundation for our family!

Getting Close to the Pour

Supposedly tomorrow will be the day that they pour our foundation! How exciting! Brian and the kids went to the house last night while I was out with a friend. Here are the photos they took. Tonight some of them went back while our inspector looked over things.

This is the view of our lot from the cul-de-sac street. That's our foundation frame, ready to go. On the left is our neighbor's driveway and the house is the background is one on the street behind us they started a month before ours.

Closer to the front of this photo is the frame for our garage and porte cushier which will look strikingly similar to the one that belongs to our neighbor (we chose the same except theirs is taller).

Here are Andrew and Nicole surveying the foundation pre-pour. That small area there is the front porch.

Andrew is quite the helper really. He loves anything to do with building and working. He is a natural.

Hopefully I'll have foundation photos soon. Woo hoo - so exciting!
